Each week is a new topic that explores Healthy & Respectful relationships within our family, peers and the community.

On this programme the group will learn to explore their strengths and healthy habits that contribute towards building a resilient mindset. Each session consists of an interactive ice breaker, a reflective group discussion and activity based on the topic of the day.

Session One: Kindess
Session Two: Attitude
Session Three: Respect
Session Four: Integrity
Session Five: Teamwork
Session Six: Communication
Session Seven: Courage
Session Eight: Finale

Impact Stories

"Everyday please"
When we asked the students if they were okay to have their Healthy Relationships session on a Thursday after their lunch break and one replied “You know what would be best.. If we had Healthy Relationships programme everyday after lunch, instead of just Thursday” This was our second time meeting our students. - TYMS Mentor

Lockdown Zoom set up students
During the Covid-19 Lockdown, all Healthy Relationship sessions were on Hold due Level 4 restrictions. We had only completed one session with this particular group, and two of the students (11 years old) both separately took the initiative to host a Zoom session, at our usual Healthy Relationships session time with the entire group. To set this up, they googled their mentor’s name, and added every email ending (gmail.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com) until they reached their mentor who gladly contacted their referrer and other TYMS staff to join in on a HRP Zoom organized by the students.

Kindness Matters
For our Kindness session each student was given paper with their name on it. The sheets were then passed around the room, where every person had to write one or more kind things about that person in the middle. Once each person received their A4 paper back, the boys shared how they felt reading what others had to say about them.
“I felt included reading this. I feel like people look up to me now” - T. 11 years old
“I feel like I fit in here” - E. 11 years old

What Our Clients Are Saying

Our Location

“If I can just affirm all the great progress that our boys are showing at school in their confidence, physical health, and their learning. Much of which is attributable to the great work that their mentor is doing."

"TYMS helped me grow as a person. They helped me understand a few things that no one else was willing to help me understand, and help me see through things that no one else could."

"Watching my son grow in the time that his mentor has been involved with him, aw bro it's been amazing. Without his mentor, my son wouldn't even be this young man that people are now seeing before their eyes. He's not out getting himself into trouble, bullying others, or hurting girls. My son came home one day after his session with the mentor and he said, 'I'm so happy you got me help mum'".
